so i got more ideas for an extension of this post

Ideas about how the acquire this child below, if details don't line up with canon pls be nice i have the memory of a goldfish sometimes

The King finally being able to remember the forgotten island is the first step out of many to being able to recover what happened to it and how to recover its culture and ppl

It takes a while for ppl to realize this tho, and about a decade after the events of act 6 happen, Odile finds out that ppl are now able to travel to the island. Results are mixed, many report that if you get lost you have a slim chance of coming back out remembered, but the more successful trips bring back things like shells and fruit from the island

Odile shares this information with the gang when they all visit Bonnie, closest place to the island, and Siffrin really wants to go. And since Siff is going, everyone else is too. They paint on everyone's arms necessary information in case they get separated and temporarily forget, and get a long ass rope to tie to everyone.

The moment they get to the island they discover quite a bit but the entrance to the cities and civilization is blocked up with highly advanced mechanics.

Siffrin, in some way, finds a path from this and discovers a room. A room coated in wish craft of some sort. Inside there is a baby in a crib sleeping peacefully. Stepping inside makes the wish craft fade, and the baby begins to cry hysterically. A very very VERY confused Siffrin tries to comfort the baby but for xyz reason has to rush out of the room. Maybe someone set off a trap idk.

Siffrin and the gang make it back to the boats, they still have a lot to do before the island can be unforgotten and rediscovered, but for now they have this KID to deal with

Most prominent, and correct, theories are that someone wished for the baby to be kept in a state of inertia right before the wish that made the island forgotten. Siffrin stepping into the room made it vanish since the wish wanted the baby to be okay until ppl on the island were back to normal, Siffrin, an islander, set it off.

Siffrin would be so so lost but still trying their best with the baby, everyone else also trying their shot. Bonnie might try to see if they have anything a baby could eat but ofc they don't they didn't anticipate a baby joining the party for the short trip. Odile finds the situation both humorous and aggravating. Baby eventually stops crying, back in Siffrin's arms and everyone finds it adorable to see Siffrin acting borderline parental to the kid. It looks like they are biologically related too! Both with blackless hair and clothing of the same material. Isa melts at the sight.

When they get back they'll get the infant a check up to ensure everything is okay and the wish craft didn't have any adverse affects. While waiting, the fam has a lot to talk about. Mainly Siff and Isa. Discussion of where the baby is gonna go ensues alongside plan for getting farther into the island. The baby stays in the care of a nursery until Siff and Isa decide if they'll take the baby in. Isa's never been against the idea of having kids, and Siff has never considered it until this point. They'd have a bunch of worries about messing it up, but overall they want to keep a close eye on someone so connected to their country. And if they are investigating the culture, maybe the baby would have a better chance at learning it if it stayed with them...

A month of discussion and preparation, they sign the adoption papers, or do whatever in the world of isat that would confirm the baby is part of their family

They might name the baby something related to Inertia, and if its literally "Inertia" then a cute nickname would be Tia, I like the idea of them getting a bby girl. If we're being honest though they 100% would name her smthn like a pun i just can't think of anything creative atm. So lets just go with tia for now. Their friends would celebrate in the way all their different cultures do and bby's got a loving family.

Isa and Frin decide early on that they are going to try to raise the kid bilingual, Frin trying to speak the forgotten island's language as much as possible. Research into the forgotten island continues as Tia grows up, including how to teach the language and write it down. It's slower than anyone would like to admit

Tia grows up and upon learning that they were found twenty years after the island was forgotten, tries her shot at underage drinking "Y'know, ✨✨I'm actually twenty years older than i appear✨✨"

Ponyboy knows it’s silly, but ever since Kat was born he’s been a little jealous because he feels like he’s no longer Soda’s “baby”. He knows he has more responsibilities to Kat than he does to him (plus he’s 15 years old, Kat is An Infant, Pony knows Kat needs Soda more than he does.) But he’s still a kid too and it stings sometimes when Soda doesn’t have as much time for him as he used to.

Usually he can ignore it, but there was one fateful day where he got picked on at school by some asshole Soc’s, flunked a math quiz, and just generally feels terrible bc 15 Years Old and he wants nothing more than to just sit on their old bed and talk to Soda & hang out like they used to do. But Kat just won’t stop crying and Pony knows she’s the priority so he kind of just shrinks into his room and doesn’t talk to anyone that night.

Darry tries to talk to him and ask what’s wrong but he just shrugs it off, finally after Kat has settled down & Cherry is with her Soda comes in and asks him what’s wrong, Pony won’t tell him at first but Soda is still Soda and can read Pony like an open book, and it all comes out at once.

Pony is crying and apologizing because he feels so guilty for feeling this way but Soda just hugs him & reassures him that he will never ever stop loving Pony or having time for him, and that’s he’s still just as much his baby as Kat is.

Idk just Pony experiencing Older “Sibling” (uncle) jealousy for the first time makes me emotional.

sorry to come back to this but this truly fascinates and concerns me for so many reasons

so first of all: brain organoids. which are grown from human stem cells into just little brains with underdeveloped eyes, they have a lifespan of about 100 days because they are an organ without a system.

these brain organoids are something that have a lot of potential when it comes to studying any number of things. just off the top of my head i would think- the process of human development, disease studies, healing tissue development, foetal and premature development of consciousness, ect ect ect i'm not informed on this type of research so i will freely admit idk.

and they are using 16 at a time as processors with computer chips. okay sure, scifi aside, the structure of an organ being used for it's complexity compared to the limitations of material and efficiency in current technology makes sense. if it helps imagine if a branch or a kidney were hooked up to a computer chip and we found out that it worked as good or better than mechanical processors for a fraction of the energy use. i am also not informed on how most technology works, please keep in mind, but i am also not opposed to the idea of combining these types of technologies in theory. and the biggest downfall currently is short shelf-life of the organoids required.

but the thing is, i think, that this is specifically an early development of a brain, at what point is consciousness defined? there is no sensory system beyond the basic light perception of the eyes and the input to the brain but at what point is the responses automatic and at what point is it complex enough to be aware in some abstract way. this question is one that can be applied to any form of animal of course.... but i think also that it is strange that these organoids are being specifically developed from human stem cells and not any number of other animal as a brain is a brain and at the small scale they are growing these organoids most of the speculative benefits of human logic are irrelevant- they are operating at pre mature infant levels which could just as easily be achieved by any number of apes cells surely?

is there going to be a developmental cut off for these organoids? at what point of biological development is the ethical ick factor for consciousness? because of how stem cells are able to be harvested in a non destructive fashion things like lab grown meat make sense to me- those are consumed but can also offset the requirements for the meat industry- and if these organoids are also grown from stem cells that's great but at what point is making that many to be burnt through as processors a wasteful use when there are other possible avenues of study? the wide commercial release of such experimental tech seems a little risky considering how quickly new technologies are exploited- just look at bitcoin farms and ai scraping- for the sake of profit with no care for ethical implementation or construction or impact.

this is a weird post from me but sorry i just have some questions i want you the person reading this to think about with me, seperate to any deep reading of the science because i wanna focus on the personal reaction to the concepts, (feel free to read the science tho i encourage it) just something to chew on i'm not expecting any philosophically concrete answers:

let's contend: there is the world (physical) and there is the senses (contact with the physical) and there is the experience (interpretation)

is it the senses or the experience that makes a creature conscious? how complex do the senses need to be before the experience is positive or negative?

where is that experiencial definition? is it as simple as feels good feels bad?

is it the tendency to circulate repeatedly on the same neural pathway? how are those neurological reactions controlled? are they controlled?

how do you feel about scientific testing on humans?

how do you feel about scientific testing on animals?

how do you feel about scientific testing on plants?

how do you feel about scientific testing on fungi?

how do you feel about scientific testing on single celled organisms?

how do you feel about scientific testing on organs?

how do you feel about scientific testing on technology?

what do you consider the line to be for ethical research? is it funding? is it theory versus practice? is it use of information? is it method of data collection? is it intent? is it implementation? is it within a limitation of precedent? is it within a limitation of subject? are there areas you think should be left alone on principle? why?

what level of complexity is required for the question of consent of participant?

where should limitations be imposed on use? why would limitations be necessary? who has the right to information? who has the right to profit?

Who is profiting from these studies? where will this technology be used? who is competing with this technology? what other technologies might this impact? will other technologies using the same concept adhere to the same limitations/ethics?

do you think everyone using the brain organoid based processors for $500pcm are thinking about these questions? should they have to?

💀Parent Nathan Explosion HCs 💀

I’ll be honest here, you were an accident

We all know how often Nathan sleeps with so many women, whether they’re fan girls, groupies, short-term girlfriends. And you were a product of one of those countless one night stands. Wether it was cause of a shitty condom or he was too drunk to remember wearing one idk

For some reason, your mom couldn’t take care of you. So you ended up in his custody instead

Everyone was shocked and confused at seeing Nathan coming back to Mordhaus with a baby in his arms. He tries to come off as uncaring and cool about it in front of the others. But inside, he’s FREAKING OUT

How is he supposed to take care of a freaking baby when he’s already busy having to lead the most famous band on the planet

Sure he makes a good father/older brother figure to Toki, Skwisgaar, and Murderface. But they’re already grown adults who can generally take care of themselves. Raising a baby is a whole other thing

He has no idea what he’s doing and is so scared, but knows you need him. So he ultimately decides to take on the job of being your dad. He better not fuck this up

When your a baby

Just imagine the band standing in a circle looking down at a tiny baby with confused faces

Your existence is kept a secret since they know that once word of Nathan now having a kid gets out, the whole world will go into a frenzy. Nathan wants you to have a normal upbringing (as normal as it gets in Dethklok)

The first thing Nathan does is call his parents in a panic about what to do. They were surprised at abruptly finding out they now have a grandkid, but gladly accepted you

He always turns to them whenever he needs parenting advice or reassurance (which is quite often). He also drops you off at their place whenever he has to go on long tours and concerts

He went so overboard in setting up your room to look metal as fuck. He was upset when Charles told him he couldn’t line your crib with spikes cuz it’s too dangerous

You cry a lot since it’s always so loud and chaotic in Mordhaus, which definitely doesn’t help the band when they need to record or have women over. Their solution is to make your room soundproof and thank god it works

Just picture Nathan walking around with a baby sling around him and a tiny infant. He acts like nothings changed and just glares at anyone he catches staring

He is SO overprotective Holly Hell. He never lets go of you and will give his most murderous glare at anyone who even looks at you

Nathan struggled with learning how to feed you (type/temp of milk, baby formulas, etc) and needed a lot of help

He left diaper changing duty to the klokateers. One time he tried doing it himself and it did not go well

Nathan often sings lullabies to you in his low gravely voice cuz it’s the only thing you can fall asleep to. If anyone else tries, you just cry. He won’t let anyone see him sing to you tho cuz it’s not metal

Everyone thinks you’re just the most precious thing ever and will kill for you. I’m not even joking

The other band members came to really like you and now enjoy playing with you (especially Toki). They’re all still pretty irresponsible guardian figures so Nathan doesn’t really trust them to look after you

They can’t even hold a baby right 🤦‍♀️

When your a kid

Maurdhouse has def gotten a lot more chaotic now that there’s a child running around

Your family dynamic is like living with a dad and four older brothers

If your a girl, your probably a tomboy who loves dressing up in rock shirts and get mistaken for a boy a lot

You love running around and exploring the house cuz it’s so huge and full of secret rooms with cool looking stuff. The klokateers scramble to find you cuz your so small

Nathan knows that, as a parent, he should scold you but is afraid of seriously scaring you with how intimidating he can be. He probably says “stop that” in a firm voice and you obey

When it comes to doing the child rearing part, that’s more Charle’s fort

There have been countless times where you’ve touched, broken, and drawn on all kinds of priceless items until you were finally banned from entering certain rooms

Of course he takes you out on camping/fishing trips. He’s determined to give you the best father/child memories like he had with his dad

The sad thing tho is that since he’s still busy with the band, he can’t spend as much time with you and often leaves you at his parents place (it’s cool since you love your grandparents)

You come to understand and always eagerly wait for his return, planning what you’ll do together and tell him everything you’ve been doing

Your existence was generally well hidden from the public until you started going to public school. How could people not notice when Nathan had to go to the parent/teacher conferences. He knew he couldn’t keep you hidden forever

Your def gonna be pretty popular at school (wether you like it or not) since your literally the child of the Nathan Explosion

You have klokateer bodyguards secretly follow you whenever you go out. Sure paparazzis are a total pain, but god only knows how many enemies of the band might come after you

Dr Rockso once showed up to your birthday party and was quickly beaten up and kicked out by Nathan. He doesn’t want that clown anywhere near you

When your a teenager

Grim the Goat (He's kinda a replacement for Eggman Nega, so he's the main antagonist in my version of the Sol Dimension. He's a skeleton goat who's a wizard and basically immoral. He's SUUUPER silly tho. He runs a lil ship with his niece, Lanolin (Yeah, I throw her in because she doesn't have a place in this AU) and she's always mega stressed because Grim does the stupidest and wackiest things.)

Cove the Wren (Kinda takes the role of Tikal/Knuckles for the Sol Dimension. He lives on Sky Babylon protecting the Master Emerald. He's actually an adult, so that's why he is the main protector. The rest of the Babylonians aren't extinct though, so good for him!)

Solaris the God of Destruction (I yoinked the name!! She's the Sol Dimension's version of Chaos. She's a wisp and lives outside the Master Emerald. She takes on the shape of a mobian phoenix, and she actually has wings. She's perfect much nonverbal, but she can make sounds like cats would lol, their chirps and hissing. She's attached to Cove, since he's been guarding her so long.)

My Future Timeline OC:

Steel the Hedgehog (She's Silver's mother, and since this AU is a DADow AU... You can fill in the blanks. She's courageous and kind of impulsive. She's somewhere on the Aroace spectrum, but she fell for Shadow after he saved her once. She's kinda insane but she's a girlboss for it. She gets killed by Mephiles when Silver is an infant LOL.)

Zurui the Chameleon (She was in the Dojo that Espio grew up with, and she was one of the people who trained him. Idk if she was his mother or what. The dojo was really strict, actually abusive when people didn't meet the standard, so Espio left.)

Spirit the Hedgehog (Weak kid with a few health problems. He's the result of Project Spirit, and was made to see spirits, hence the name. He is the first successful attempt, but is physically weak because of it. Shadow rescues him and Spitfire from whoever made them, and so Spirit grows up normally, taking interest in stuff like art, literature, and mechanics. When Spirit starts seeing ghosts, he gets to interact with Maria, whose ghost was still hanging around Shadow since she hadn't moved on yet. Spirit and Maria get to interact, and they become friends, telling each other things. Scares the hell out of Shadow tho LOL. Eventually, Spirit learns how to project spirits using chaos energy, and Shadow almost CRIES LOL... HIS SISTERRRR)

Spitfire the Hedgehog (Spitfire was made to defend the lab and is more of a power type, but was taken away as an infant. As she grew up, she had to start defending Spirit, since he's weak and kinda strange lol. When Spark comes into the picture, she has to make sure Spirit doesn't get hurt, or worse. Spark only being interested in Spirit makes Spitfire insecure, since she starts to think she isn't good enough. It's okay she gets a girlfriend who's very nice. Spitfire is very energetic and a thrill seeker, she's a bit crazy but she's a good person.)

Spark the Hedgehog (The youngest and fastest of the three, made from the leftover DNA of Sonic and Shadow, but he was altered enough so he looks their age. Spark sees himself as a pawn, just a tool to be used, he believes he doesn't have autonomy and just bends to the will of who's commanding him. He was created for the sole purpose of retrieving Spirit due to Spirits abilities, but has been stopped by Spirit's family. I've thought about having something where Spark injures Spirit, and it breaks his worldview a bit)

Silvaze:

Smolder the Hedgehog (He's the heir to the throne of Soleanna (I use the name for Blaze's kingdom bc I wouldn't use it in my 06). Oldest of 3, and the one without powers. He has a physical prowess though, so that makes up for it. He's responsible and booksmart, he wants to prove himself to be a good role model and eventual ruler.)

Ash the Cat (Middle child, who was originally going to be the youngest until I made Ember, lol. She's transfem, and her parents are very supportive of her. She's currently the least fleshed out, since Ember took a lot of her concepts lol. She has psychokinesis tho! I really really need to flesh her out...)

Ember the Cat (Youngest child, she was trained to guard the Sol Emeralds, and has pyrokinesis. She also is being trained to keep relations and communication between Sky Babylon and Soleanna, becoming great friends with Tide, who is in line to be the next protector of the Master Emerald. Her and Tide end up dating btw 💕. Ember is shy but appears reserved and mature. Ember's "burning" form is called "Ignited Ember".)

Sonilver:

Cobalt the Hedgehog (Created when Silver and Sonic used the Time Stones simultaneously. They have control over time, freely passing through it. They have seen a lot of history, and has found it interesting, but hadn't truly befriended anyone. Silver eventually finds them, and offers them a choice to live with him. They eventually decide to reach out, and they do become like family to Silver, and eventually to Sonic too. Silver and Sonic aren't together tho lol. Cobalt is AMAB but is kinda genderfluid/gender apathetic and goes by all pronouns. They identify with different parts of masculinity and femininity)

been listening to epic (the musical) (the concept album) a bunch and my brain has been hatching lots of ideas for how to stage it, so i will share them with you, good people of tumblr.

some caveats: i don’t pay attention to any extra streams, videos, etc, so most of my context is purely the music plus some things my friend tells me. therefore i will completely be making shit up on occasion, like in the gaps between some songs. i also know that jorge has said the dream is to do some really crazy cirque de soleil shit onstage, and i don’t really know enough about that to include it!

additionally, i will be trying to keep practicality and realism in mind, but this is still pretty far-fetched and assumes we have a large stage and near-infinite backstage storage at our disposal. to be fair, the odyssey has a LOT of different locations and you can’t make a story called epic without some massive set pieces. also, my experience is mostly deck crew, idk lighting stuff or choreography or anything, so i’m just going to try my best with that.

all onboard? epic. commence troy saga:

vocab notes

stage left and stage right refer to the audience’s left and right. upstage means away from the audience, and downstage means closer to them. midstage/center stage are self explanatory. most theatres (i think? i’ve only seen a couple) have multiple curtains that can divide the stage horizontally, called travelers. i think that’s it.

the horse and the infant

i want lights down everywhere but stage left, where there is a big sort of plywood cutout loosely in the shape of the trojan horse, with of course the interior of the horse painted on it. odysseus and a couple of his soldiers are here

i originally thought you could build a small space jutting out of the horse for them to crouch in but you would have to have some serious counterweight on the other side. it would look cool tho. even if you do do that, odysseus doesn’t stay there long because that’s a pretty cramped and uninteresting position to be in.

when the soldiers all say “yes sir!” the first time, the rest of the lights come up, revealing the city of troy, which is represented by some more painted plywood backdrops of the city at night. they’re all on wheels. the lights should still be fairly dim for the vibes, and pretty blue and orange to match the album. y’all are gonna learn quickly that i loveeee putting sets on wheels.

also more of odysseus’s men are there! as odysseus names each of his men, they do something kind of related to whatever he says.

when they say “yes sir!“ the second time, well, you can do some funky group choreo there. it’s kind of hard because technically they’re not attacking yet, just sort of demonstrating what will happen. shrugs.

once odysseus calls out penelope and telemachus…my stage had these ramps on the side next to the stairs with walls, and we would put people and sets there all the time. so depending on the theatre layout, they will appear there on stage right periodically through the entire show until odysseus gets home. throw a lil spotlight on them. bam.

naturally, when odysseus yells “attack!” the rest of the soldiers charge into the city and some trojan soldiers can enter stage right to fight them. the trojan horse flips to reveal the other side is painted like a gate/the city. slowly, the city backdrops roll offstage left, and the fighting greek/trojan soldiers move off with them. the music here will probably need to be lengthened to allow for this.

simultaneously, a room for the titular infant has been set up. probably like two half walls and a crib and a fancy decoration or some such. i’m thinking some kind of projection of like, silhouettes of odysseus to represent his vision and the eagle that represents zeus.

then zeus enters stage right and has his little convo with odysseus, stepping back to sort of dramatically reveal the crib to him. he and odysseus talk, nothing special happens, zeus spookily exits stage right as he sings his last line about odysseus choosing the blood on his hands

of note, i want 90% of the cast to be soldiers in this scene. as the soldiers die, odysseus’s little ensemble can shrink, and the dead soldiers can be double cast as the various enemies and their sidekicks. the exceptions to this are penelope, telemachus, zeus, and athena.

just a man

i want to be very specific about when odysseus looks at the audience for this one. it’s such a private, pivotal moment that i want him to avoid acknowledging that anyone except him and the baby exist. the two main points i think he can look at the audience are when he says “close your eyes, and spare yourself the view” and the “forgive me”s.

otherwise not much special in this song, its just odysseus holding a baby. he can act like he might drop it, from the wall, just so the audience is Aware, but it’s definitely important that by the end of the song what he does is ambiguous

i know the musical is meant to be sung through and so i want to avoid having moments where the stage goes dark for scene changes, but there are points where it’s unavoidable bc of the crazy set this thing has to have. so, we will put one right at the end here, keep the music real quiet for the audience to just sit and absorb this song

full speed ahead

when the lights come back up, we’ll have odysseus’s ship on stage left-centerish (odysseus should always be traveling from left to right, basically, since ithaca is stage right) and that’s all

dadada we introduce eurylochus and polities, then set for the island starts coming out on stage left for polities to comment on. the island sets can all be painted backdrops, so then theres two sides for some variety, and the same set of rocks/plants/trees arranged in different ways to show its a new place. i want the colors and things to be very bright and just this side of unnatural, because this isn’t home, they’re strange lands.

the boat can slowly be going off left as odysseus and polities make their way onto the island at the end of the song, which ofc flows right into the next

polities and odysseus wander across the stage for this, nothing exciting.

definitely can do some fun costuming with the lotus eaters when they pop up. i’m thinking of the trolls (or the hidden folk, i guess?) from frozen on broadway. but creepier, maybe

once they get the location of the cave, they can start walking back left and the lotus eaters can go off, taking/rearranging their set as they do because it’s about to be a new island. lights go down there as well. odysseus slows his steps to stop roughly center stage, or center-left depending on how big the stage is. he looks conflicted about what’s just happened. polities slowly walks off as he sings

athena comes out of somewhere. i think it would be fun for her to pop out from behind the set as opposed to entering from the wings. when she says “have you forgotten your purpose? let me remind you,” lights can come up on the right, kind of yellowy? i imagine ithaca as being very yellow for some reason. maybe some flickering to represent going into a flashback.

i know it’s not the original idea, but i think having a second actor play younger odysseus fighting the boar and stuff would be best/clearest. i have NO idea how to do the boar bc i feel like it would look kinda silly any way you did it? but that happens

athena this whole time is standing outside of the yellow light, narrating the flashback to odysseus. when young!ody starts calling her out, he doesnt look directly at her (because he’s bluffing, of course), until she steps into the light, which both symbolizes her dropping the spell and entering the flashback story

young!ody leaves and athena returns to odysseus after the last chorus, as she says “i still intend to make sure you don’t fall behind.” she gets very close to him to warn “don’t disappoint me” at the end, which makes odysseus look at her stubbornly. lights down, unfortunately, for another scene change to the cyclops cave

When I listen to the Troy saga, the first five songs, I think of the Keith as lotors generals AU thing. Especially the first two songs, The Horse and the Infant and Just a Man. Since Odysseus is tweaking about the idea of killing an infant it could also be like Keith feeling bad about hurting innocent people, who didn’t do anything. Besides being against the empire

But then he has to kill those people. It’s his job. Lotors given him everything, the least he can do is ‘deal with’ a few aliens who he doesn’t even know or care about

"The Underworld"

So cool to have them GO to the underworld bc I asked my dad (who read the odyssey a long time ago) about the prophet and in the poem odysseus just summons Tireas's spirit so.

It starts quiet then eventually you actually hear the wails of the souls and it's v chilling and a great detail to add

The entire chorus is so good, it's survivors guilt in like 3 sentences, Jay, how?

I keep thinking of the infant from that night, I keep thinking of the infant from that night

POLITES!

And then it goes dead silent and then this soft wail of "waaaiiittttinnnnng!" And odysseus's reaction, oh lord, the way this of everything seems to hit home. The soft, quiet "Why, Mom?"

KEY CHANGE! DRAMA! And then unlike ending down the two previous times, where it gets softer, they end shouting DOWN JN THE UNDERWORLD! And it's almost like the underworld owns their screams too now

Tireas's voice is perfect I just. It's got this breathy edge making it ghostly ad then it's so low and soft it's kind of like

Ugh the whole song seems like a cross between a lullaby and a waltz and both are minor key and creepy as FUCK and I love it and wish I had the vocabulary to express this concept better

What?

A man who gets to make it home alive, but it's no longer you. As the audience we know what this means. Odysseus survives and makes it back but he is so vastly changed that he is "no longer" the man who left for war. But in the pernicious way of prophecies, this is left unclarified and I don't even know if Tireas does this on purpose. Maybe he genuinely sees it all fuzzy (unlikely to me given other details he gives) maybe he thinks Odysseus is clever enough to understand (you'd think he'd change his literal tune when Odysseus keeps reacting the way he does) and maybe... maybe Tireas just doesn't fuckin give a shit. Here's your prophecy bitch let's see you battle it til you come back down here to never leave again

The rage in Odysseus's voice when he screams WHO!? This might be me wanting to make him like unrealistically good with his wife, but it almost seems like rage on behalf of Penelope? Like he's angry someone perhaps tricked or forced her into wedlock? Idk it feels like if he was reacting to the idea that she was cheating, he'd scream "what" again

And tireas literally repeats himself he's so fucking unhelpfjl and tbh of course odysseus is gonna go off the rails. I can't honestly blame him 😂

"Monster"

I'm the only one who's line is haven't crossed. Um. Boyo I'm pretty sure you did a long jump over your line with the infant thing. Other than that tho it's such an interesting line esp bc it's true like. So many people have given odysseus advice and told him limits they want to set, and he's pushed through all of it. That literally has made him the primary danger to his crew in a lot of ways

OK the whole section where hengoes through the examples of the cyclops, circe the witch, poseidon the god, and finally turns to himself and the horse, basically SPITTING out the words- I love it all, I love the rhythm, the rhymes, the reasoning he goes through... so good

OK it gets quite andnthennthat soft, low "Oh, ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves" and it starts to build, he's shouting out what he's lost and what he needs to keep, and his plan, and finally screams "THEN ILL BECOME THE MONSTER"

Ugh building om that last it's so fucking interesting bc this is both corruption and sacrifice, this change that odysseus is kindnof allowing within himself. He's built up all this time thar he wants to stop losing his men, so it can be read as him being a good leader, willing to put his personal need (integrity) aside to keep them safer.

But on the other hand, who is he talking to/about the entire end? Penelope and telemachus. He's got to see them. He wants/needs to, and he's frankly doing this for them, and like it all sounded reasonable until he says he'll fucking drop a baby off a a wall "in an instant" and you go WHOA.

He's no longer himself. All itntakes is one fucking song, odysseus declares he's not just crossing his own line, the last line, he's obliterating that line completely. There is no more line for this man, anywhere. He's going to do anything he fucking has to

There are these two girls in my art class. They're both pretty annoying but one of them is even worse. Girl A has called me "her Finley" on several occasions even though I've told her repeatedly not to, she's infantalized me, spoken for me as though I can't speak for myself, claiming that she "cares about me" and "always stuck up for me" even though I've never known her until this school year. Because of her insufferable behavior as well as her friend's, I've resorted to annoying them.

Today though, she was cleaning our table and asked if I wanted my part of the table cleaned, without looking up at her or saying anything, I moved my stuff out of the way so she could clean it. I heard her groan (tho she wasn't really upset) and for whatever I said to her "What are you upset about?? Im literally providing space for you to clean!!"

And then other kids I've had problems with in art class started jumping in. Boy A kept saying I was gonna cry and put words in my mouth repeatedly and Boy B kept calling me a god and a king, pretending to like me and stick up for me.

I'm not sure how it all ended honestly because I mostly remember all the noise they were making while I tried to ignore them, but my teacher said she'd let me sit alone if I wanted to and I said yes. I think girl A started talking to Girl B about me at some point.

I just don't get why always the prey for these degenerates in art class. IDK if it's because I wear glasses or because I'm intelligent or something else but evidently something about me is screaming "mess with me!! Infantalize me!! I insist!!" and I wish it would just fucking stop. I'm sick of being the butt of every joke. Not giving a reaction didn't stop those girls (esp and now I actually reacted and gave them what they wanted, their only gonna pick on me more now they know what I'm like when I'm angry. My primary periods are better than they were last year, since most my classmates have changed, but art is the longest period of the day, and then I have to put up with someone I don't like for student resource time, and then lunch, so that means I have to deal with a little over an hour's worth of insufferableness. Even if the rest of the day is decent or good even, it still affects me, having to consistently put up with all this.

These 4 weeks til the end of trimester when I change my fourth period really couldn't come any quicker could they? Guess I'll be just wait bitterly until then.

Hello Rita! I was wondering if you have any plans to play with xami when the infant update or the ep (if you decide to get it) comes out! Your gameplay is my favorite! 🤍

uhm so the thing is.. 👉🏻👈🏻 i completely scrapped xami being pregnant and she's curenly living in san myshuno and has no idea who the f luke is lmaoo i was planning to replay her life and start a bit earlier in the timeline before she comes to henford-on-bagley and meets her future man. and she's such a great sim to have a family gameplay with but i don't think i wanna rush all that neither, so i've been breaking my brain over this pretty much because there's not much time at all to play through all that till it comes out. what would you do?

so far i'm choosing between:

play with another sim/fam to experience the pack so later i can come back to xami and have my fun time with her without any rush

keep xami's old storyline and just continue (but i kinda want better quality gameplay pics and videos for her because she deserves it 😞 idk about the old ones, i was just starting out and the quality bothers me). the storyline turned out hella fun tho, ngl

play with little xami as an infant and experience her life from the very beginning? haha or any other sim that i have. the little baby girl in a pink romper from the trailer reminded me of my simi and i got so emotional thinking about simi being this smol 🥺😂

what would you do/do you have any other ideas? (i definitely need some help with brainstorming, i'd be super thankful)

Is it possible for childhood sa memories to never consciously resurface and the victim spend their entire life unaware of what happened to them?

...... i dont see why not really. i dont know how common that is, but id place my money on it happening at least to some

i mean, there's plenty of cases of people figuring out/theyre told they have trauma-based disorders such as DID in their 50s,60s,70s etc - so, most ot their life they remembered only small or certain parts of trauma compared to the full scope, or perhaps not much of it at all; they may spend most of their lives with entire gaps of years in their childhood memory without knowing... and the DID will protect the most active or "host" part of them from the worst ptsd symptoms for some time. i dont see why its not theoretically possible for someone to take this to the grave never knowing really. i have also heard of cases of peoples trauma of csa not coming to them until their abusers are dead and they know theyre dead, and thus the brain finally feels safe (especially heard this in the case of family members) - so, this may come when they are in their 40s, 50s, or older. its actually rather common from what i know for people to become aware or to accept these sort of traumas later on in life

...... id say tho, DID&OSDD are particular cases in extreme and repeated early childhood trauma induced disorders which create more of a.... level of protection than many have against the trauma (for some parts, while other parts carry the burden). but even without the development of such disorders its rather common for the brain to shut down/repress memories like that, and for the brain to "give them back" later on during teens, early adulthood, or adulthood depending on the individual - either because something has triggered the individual and memory, or because the brain finally feels safe enough to start breaking down those barriers...... i think in Many cases (idk if most but.. maybe most) the brains barriers start breaking down at some point, but perhaps in some cases they do not - perhaps if the individual never feels safe enough for this to happen, or doesnt encounter a particular trigger?

..... it may be the case as well that someone will experience symptoms which stem from csa, or maybe even forms of flashbacks, and that they will have behaviors infleunced by said trauma, but be unable to accept it their entire lives. they may simply keep repressing them and being unwilling to even entertain the idea that anything like that ever happened - in this case maybe there will be a tiny part of them which knows and understands, but for the most part its never processed or accepted. they will just keep building those walls up and pushing it further down - perhaps some can do this their whole lives. they may have intense nightmares or flashbacks, and obvious symptops, but still deny it completely. im sure this sort of thing can be taken to the grave too

...... id also say, this might be the case if were talking about.... earrrrllly earllly csa. i guess im a particular outlier(?) maybe for remembering things, not just trauma, from when i was two years old (i reckon the dissociation has something to do with it too). but many people do not remember much at all, good or bad, from before they were 3-4 years old..... this doesnt mean that csa at those ages wont have lasting impacts and lead to things - some part of the body and mind and subconscious remembers and reacts nontheless - but that it may be harder or perhaps in some cases impossible, to remember details or to make sense of certain symptoms one may be having... (a particularly horrible parallel example of this - of very early intense trauma at least, would be that babies used to get... fucking surgery without anesthesia. horrible. these ppl as adults cant remember this, but theyre still scarred for life and have many many issues. another would be that infant neglect and feeling uncared for, scared, alone for too long as an infant or young toddler is something most may not ever remember, but it still often has consequences).......... maybe my brain in particular is weird af bc osdd&did... and because of psychadelics... and meditation..... ill just say. personally.. i dont think any of us truly, truly ever "forget" anything from the time we are born....not really. somewhere its still there ....... though i would say generally, it is uncommon, maybe very uncommon, for ppl to fully remember much of csa or trauma at those ages. perhaps in these cases it is more likely for someone to go their whole life never really having an idea of what happened to them or why they may have certain issues

A3: Do they have any emotional or psychological conditions? Are they aware of it? Do they try to treat it? 

i havent officially diagnosed him with anything but really just the average of what you'd expect from a guy revived from the brink of death then kept captive for like 30 years. he's depressed and pretty intensely hypervigilant. his social skills leave much to be desired and he has relatively severe memory loss issues. lobotomy victim. overall he's just extremely disoriented now that he's existing in greater society once again, which is partially due to his disorders but also to be completely expected with circumstances like that. he doesnt know what's going on really or how to fix it, he just would like it to finally stop.

A4: Are they a pessimist or an optimist? 

In his youth he was certainly an optimist. it's one of the things harvey looked up to him for. even after his resurrection i think he was at least Grateful, for an amount of time, that he was given a second chance. he's really been through the wringer tho LOL idk if he has much faith in humanity doing the right thing, even if it Sounds like the right thing at face value cough cough

A17: What’s one of your OC’s proudest moments of themselves?

he was proud of himself for finally completing his military training and makin it to the real deal!! that didnt last very long!!

B7: How do they respond to babies crying in public?

it activates the suddenly-easily-agitated switch in his brain and he has to walk away before he ends up questioning his desires to be injure infant children.

B13: Do they have a large or small group of friends?

he was quite popular in his youth, but he doesn't really have friends now though at all unless you want to count faust trying really hard to be his 'bestie'. He was somewhat social when he was at the facility on a good day, but there weren't many good days.

C1: Does your OC have a moral code? If not, how do they base their actions? If so, where does it come from, and how seriously do they take it?

he's pretty much just been living in survival mode, not necessarily by any strong moral code. he believes in helping his peers whenever he can but thats really the only thing he's certain about. the political climate is completely different from when he was 20 vs when he was in the facility vs now so he doesn't really feel he's got enough backstory to determine who's in the right/wrong. his moral code never ran very deep in the first place, it pretty much exclusively consisted of like. protect/help others. be a nice person. he never felt any reason to make it more complex than that, thats why he joined the military <3

C4: Do they consider themselves superior or more important than anyone else? Lesser?

i think that he's well aware that his general aptitude is lower than that of the average Region Zero citizen (maybe not as low he believes tbh) because of all his lost years, so in that way he feels lesser. I don't think he sees himself as being any more/less deserving than the next guy tho. faust kinda treats him that way at times but raymond just thinks hes weird LOL

D3: How comfortable are they with the idea of death?

he would love to finally die LOL he's near 100% comfortable with it and is deeply troubled by the fact that he couldve died relatively painlessly several times, but now he gets to just continue living in more and more pain instead because someone decades ago decided that more population = more prosperity

E1: Would you say that your OC is intelligent? In what ways? Would your OC agree?

he's not highly intelligent but he's certainly not stupid. just average. i think his kindness (give or take a few lashing-out's) and willingness to cooperate certainly outshine his smarts. he's quite ignorant of anything to have happened in the last 25 years (can't blame him) and even before everything happened he was quite simple-minded but certainly intelligent in an interpersonal way... kinda refreshing in a place like this LOL. i think he'd claim he's dumber than he actually is.

E8: What’s one of your OC’s biggest regrets?

I think he'll come to regret working with faust, just because he doesnt want to be part of a whole sabotage scheme (nonetheless one against his own sister, as soon as he gets released from 25 years locked up). he really doesn't even want to see her again in this state, it'd be too complicated and tragic. but alas.

F1: What sort of home do they live in now, if at all? How did they end up there?

he's living in the office with Faust LOLLL there's a guest bedroom. Faust asked him back to the capital after he 'liberated' the handful of people left at the facility, but kinda just struck him a deal to stay indefinitely. he of course has nowhere else to go, so he decided he would stay. itd be 'an honor to have him as a spokesperson for survivors of region zero's mad science' or something, whatever faust said.

F7: What’s their “dream career” or job situation?

tbh idk if he has one LOL he'd be fine even just being in the military again, or a cashier or something. he just wants a normal life by region zero standards.

F11: What are some of their favorite things to do for recreation? How did they get into it? What part of it do they like the most?

i dont think he has a ton of hobbies at the ripe age of 45 LOL i bet he'd enjoy a good crossword or something though, or something else mildly mentally stimulating. he's probably read the same few books 10 times each due to the limited material in the facility for all those years. he'd probably be happy to read something new finally.

G1: Is your OC close to their family?

He was pretty close before all the facility stuff, but obviously not anymore. He had a pretty standard relationship with his parents and never caused much trouble, but the relationship was a little weird only since they were relying on him a bit for money. they never asked him to do that tho. he was basically harvey's best friend and role model. he'd still visit them often after he joined the military. everyone looks back upon those times fondly.

G2: Who makes up your OC’s family, at least the more important members to them?

well his mom and dad are dead (i think he'd already assumed this) so really all that's left is harvey, and she's estranged due to the circumstances. she's still important to him once he figures out she'd still alive, but of course the situation is quite compromised. if this is you asking if he has any children due to the Milking....well maybe.

H8: What’s your OC’s idea of a perfect date?

I DONT THINK HES V PICKY LOLLL. A NICE MEAL AND A MOVIE PERHAPS.

I6: Could they eat the same thing they enjoy over and over and not get bored of it quickly?

He's learned to over time, since that's pretty much the meal situation in the facility. he does get bored of it quicker than he'd prefer tho </3

J2: How politically aware are they?

unaware as Hell right now but he's about to learn everything that's happened in the past 25 years in 10 minutes faust-style <3 he didnt even know who the damn president was!!!

L2: What do you consider the biggest themes in your character, if any?

another one i havent thought about much, but as im typing this i guess im thinking about the irony of his Faust Parallels. Guy who wants to live but is dying against all odds vs guy who wants to die but is living against all odds. guy who has a dead sister he couldnt be there for bcz of his own foolishness vs guy with a somehow alive sister he couldn't be there for (still a fool) etc etc. you get what im sayin?

Another idea

btw the POV goes from third person to second person at the end, my bad

hear me out:

Sun and Moon are separate animatronics who get involved with the military, falling in love with their commander (i think that’s the rank. i’m not too educated on the military tbh), Y/N, who dies at the end.

Let me explain:

So this begins after Moon attacks an employee, brutally murdering them. This happens because he has the virus. Now, the press hears about this, of course, and it goes viral, Fazbear Entertainment getting a lot of attention. The military gets hold of this info (i’m gonna say they got it from the attention on social media and news), and decide to buy Moon. During this time, there’s a war going on.

Military sees Moon as an advantage, since he’s a robot, one that can be dangerous. Because they see him as a robot, they think that he won’t experience the trauma of war and won’t get tired, and can be rebuilt again and again.

In the Plex, Moon is getting the virus out of him, and when it is, he is obviously distraught, hiding away in his room with Sun. Sun tries to comfort him, hugging him and telling him that it wasn’t him who killed the employee.

When the time comes for Moon to be shut down to be taken to the military base, Sun tries his hardest to prevent it. Due to them having the same body, just different looks, it is revealed that Sun has the same abilities as Moon when he gets too aggressive with the P&S employees.

The employees, seeing this as a money grab, decide to shut down Sun as well. Unfortunately, the employees had stun batons with them, so they used it on Sun. Moon was cowering in the corner, wanting to do something to help Sun, but unable to, the sight of the mutilated employee at the forefront of his mind.

The two are shut down and brought to the base. They’re both bought when the military is informed that Sun has the same abilities of Moon.

Here’s where Y/N comes in. Y/N is tasked with showing Sun and Moon how war goes, the vocabulary, titles, how to use guns, etc. When Y/N is doing this, they believe that it should be quite simple for the ex-attendants to get. They see them as just robots, things that should be able to easily follow orders. When this doesn’t happen, they get short with them, snapping at them and being an ass.

Then, one day, during one of the lessons of how to load a gun and where the best places were to aim, a video is used. Of course, a real person couldn’t be used as an example, and a dummy wouldn’t have served well, so the next best course of action was a hyper-realistic animation. Seeing this, Moon is once again reminded of what happened when he had the virus, causing him to leave the room as fast as he could, hugging himself. Sun follows him, knowing the reason.

Y/N, chasing them and feeling annoyed, catch up to them after losing them for a second. They’re greeted with the sight of Moon curled into himself, the LEDs on his eyes making him teary-eyed. Sun is there, whispering that they’ll get out of there, he’ll make sure of it. This whole situation makes Y/N pause and think. Are they more human than they look? Can they experience trauma like a person? It certainly looks like it.

Y/N, now feeling guilty for being so harsh, walks away. They know the reason as to why Sun and Moon are there, but there isn’t anything to be done about that. It’s not like the two can be returned to Fazbears, and they can’t get a life they choose to live.

The next time the three are together, Y/N makes sure to be gentle, more patient. Eventually, the three become friends. Moon is still uncomfortable with the lessons, but he braves through them. He and Sun have come to accept that there’s no out to this, that they have to do this.

Y/N is very understanding throughout this process, secretly wishing they could do something about it. As their friendship deepens, feelings start to form. There would be lingering touches, one staring at the other when they’re not looking.

One day, Y/N is called to the battlefield. The mission they were going to go on was high-risk, meant for people of high ranking. Y/N had to go, but Sun and Moon refused it. They begged that they come with them, but when that didn’t work, they threatened to run away. No matter how hard they tried, nothing would change Y/N’s mind. Y/N was afraid that they’d lose both or one of the attendants on the field, while the attendants were afraid to lose Y/N.

Instead of pleading some more with Y/N on this matter, they go to the higher ups, explaining that they can be useful, able to use the abilities they were bought for. Of course, they don’t actually want to use them, but they would if it meant to protect Y/N. The higher ups accept this idea, sending them off to join the others.

Upon seeing them in the group, Y/N has to do a double-take. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Before either of the attendants could say anything, Y/N yells at them, saying “what are you doing here?! you can’t be here!” and the like. Due to the volume they were yelling at, another officer came by and informed Y/N why they were there. Y/N argues back, but is silenced by someone of higher rank.

On the battlefield, it’s a tense fight. The enemy side is winning, having more soldiers and weapons. Here comes the reason why this mission needed high ranking soldiers: someone was going to plant a bomb, which would take out many of the enemy soldiers, distracting them. This would give Y/N’s side an advantage, and win the war. Problem is, the planter has to be stealthy and quick. They can also be affected by the explosion, which of course would be a bad thing.

Hearing the plan, Moon was going to volunteer, reasoning that he can be stealthy due to his flexibility and quick, but Y/N snatches the bomb before he can. The other commanders allow Y/N to do the task, planning to use Sun and Moon as a shield against bullets and for close combat. The two object, but are silenced by a zap of electricity coming from a tazer from one of the commanders.

Y/N takes off, sneaking around the guards, killing some when they can’t, and finally planting the bomb. They instantly turn around, but is grabbed by one of the enemy soldiers. They fight the attacker off, succeeding and running away, but it was too late.

The bomb explodes, the impact making Y/N be thrown somewhere. They landed with a broken arm, a deep wound in their head. Someone was near them, another enemy soldier. The feeling of a bullet entering their skull never comes, warm hands holding them up. They hear someone-- no, someones talking, but they can’t make it out. They’re in terrible pain, and there’s ringing in their ears. Opening their eyes, they see that it’s Sun and Moon who are talking to them.

Sun has his hands pressing against the head wound, desperately trying to stop the bleeding. Moon was wiping the tears from Y/N’s face, telling them that everything will be okay. Planning to keep his promise, he picks them up. The two run as fast as they can to the nurses, but they’re too slow.

Y/N’s finding it harder and harder to keep their eyes open, breath slowing. Sun, using his scanners, notice that their heart rate is slowing down. “Come on! They’re dying, Moon! Please, run!” He’s terrified for you. He doesn’t want to lose you, he can’t imagine what life would be like without you there.

The sound of gunshots and the yelling of commands fill the background, but no one is listening to it. Sun and Moon are focused on Y/N as they lift their hand up, their breaths shaky. “It’s. . . okay. Just, set me down here. Get. . .” They take a deep breath, “Get to the others.”

“But we can’t! You-- You need help!” Moon pleads, still running as fast as he can to the medical station. He’s almost there, he knows it.

“It’s too late. Please, I. . . I don’t want to spend my last moments running. I. . .” Y/N’s voice breaks, tears running down their face. “I want you to live.”

Moon stops, one side wanting to stay with

new fic idea 2

imagine an au where reader is a hacker and they've heard about how advanced fazbear animatronics are, so they try to hack them, specifically the daycare attendant since it seemed to be neglected by staff, which makes them think that they'll be easy to hack.

When Reader tries to hack them, they're unable to, a firewall or smth blocking them (i'm not too educated on coding/programming things). This turns out to be Moon's programming identifying an unknown source trying to get into his program.

So Moon starts a conversation with Reader and interrogates them as to why they are doing what they're doing. After the interrogation and stuff, Moon finds Reader harmless. Sun has been witnessing this in the background, and his interest is peaked (I think that's how you spell it).

So Sun starts another conversation with Reader, not an investigation, more like a get to know you one. Reader realizes that they're talking to A.I., so they become curious as to how they act. So Reader goes alongs with Sun's antics, following along the conversation.

At the end of it, Sun is satisfied and wants to talk to Reader again, but can't due to the daycare opening. So he asks them if they can come into the daycare to talk in person maybe. Reader declines, and says that they can talk again the next night the same way they are now.

Eventually, the three of them becomes friends, and eventually get feelings for each other. then the plex burns down. With nowhere else to go, Sun and moon reach out for Reader. Reader helps them and they now live together. Some time after that they start dating and its a happily every after

New fic idea

what if--- hear me out:

a y/n x sun/moon fic where y/n helps fix out a relationship problem between the daycare assistant already working there and sun and moon?

like sun and moon are in a relationship with the assistant (let’s call them Alex), and its their first time being in love. So they’re in a relationship with Alex, but it’s a bad one. Alex takes advantage of them, finding humor in playing with their emotions. Since it’s Sun and Moon’s first relationship, and only having fairy tales to assume what happens in a romantic relationship, they don’t recognize that this is bad. 

Y/N is hired to work alongside Alex because management is seeing Sun and Moon acting a bit distracted by Alex, so Y/N has to get the three of them back on track

This leads Y/N to learn of the relationship and realizes how unhealthy it is, so they decide to intervene and stop the manipulation. Then after all that intervention stuff, they get close to Sun and Moon, but they both have trust issues now, unwilling to get into another relationship.
